April 6, 2024Quebec’s Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP) will reopen for applications on January 1, 2024, with stricter requirements. The program was closed by Immigration Minister Christine Frechette to enhance the socioeconomic integration of selected investors. New rules require applicants to demonstrate Level 7 French-language proficiency, obtain a work permit, have a secondary school diploma, and live in Quebec for six months post-permit. Investors must invest $1 million and provide $200,000 to IQ Immigrants Investisseurs within 120 days of application approval. In 2023, Quebec welcomed 68,705 new permanent residents and 89,765 temporary foreign workers.
